Design around the hidden interfaces
Controlling Cap Pull-Off Force and Rotational Play is best approached as a measurable packaging decision, not a visual preference. A cap is judged visually, but it works through internal ribs, magnets, friction features or snap geometry. Check engagement depth, pull-off force, rotational play and clearance to the collar. Heavy caps also change drop behaviour and can increase stress at the neck.
Separate appearance from construction
ABS, PP, aluminium, wood, ceramic and weighted assemblies create different cost, decoration and recycling routes. Specify the visible finish, substrate, colour reference, parting-line limits and acceptable internal construction separately. This makes supplier comparisons more transparent.
Approve the complete shoulder stack
Collar height, pump ferrule diameter, cap cavity and bottle shoulder must be reviewed together. Decoration build-up can close small clearances, so final approval uses decorated components. Record cap orientation requirements when artwork, grain or a geometric shape must face forward.
